Uzbek Senate Discusses Expansion of Interregional Cooperation with South Korean Delegation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 September, Anvar Tuychiev, Chair of the Senate Commission on Promoting the Activities of Local Representative Authorities, met with a delegation led by Heo Hong, Chairman of the local representative body of Miryang City, Republic of Korea.
During the meeting, both sides highlighted that multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea has reached the level of a strategic partnership. It was emphasized that the political will of the heads of state plays a key role in further developing and strengthening bilateral relations.
The parties exchanged views on prospects for cooperation across all areas, including expanding economic and investment projects in agriculture and water management, as well as developing interregional collaboration.
Special attention was given to strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue, activating friendship groups, and organizing joint events.
Among the proposals discussed were the introduction of an “Electronic Parliament” system, implementation of “smart agriculture” projects, and enhancement of inter-parliamentary cooperation in environmental protection and sustainable development.
