Uzbek Securities Depositary stores securities of 1,678 public companies

Central Securities Depository of Uzbekistan said it stores 4.392 billion securities (4.319 billion as of 23 October 2009) of 1,678 joint-stock companies (1,698) as of 13 November 2009. Total volume of issued shares made up 5.357 trillion soums (5.338 trillion soums).
The depository said the number of joint-stock companies founded on the base of state enterprises was 1,195 (1,204) in the reporting period. They issued 2.21 billion (2.205 billion) shares worth 3.456 trillion soums (3.45 trillion soums).
About 375 (380) enterprises were founded on voluntary basis, which issued 2.129 billion (2.068 billion) securities for 1.839 trillion soums (1.832 trillion soums).
Number of commercial banks comprised 33. The banks emitted 1.834 billion shares (1.774 billion shares) for 1.131 trillion soums (1.125 trillion soums). Seven investment funds issued 5.3 million shares for 1.127 billion soums.
Dehkan and clothes markets issued 42.1 million shares (34.7 million shares) for 54.305 million soums (46.952 million soums). Number of dehkan and clothes markets was 54 (55) in the reporting period.
