Uzbek, Russian officials discuss cooperation in security area

On 13 April 2016, in Tashkent, within the framework of the meeting of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the SCO Member States, Secretary of Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Victor Makhmudov met with the Secretary of Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev.
The sides discussed state and prospects of further strengthening of the relationship in addressing new challenges and threats both in the bilateral format and within the framework of the SCO.
During the meeting special attention was paid to the cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the SCO, preparation for the upcoming Summit in Tashkent and other activities during Uzbekistan’s presidency in the organization.
