Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 August 2020, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.
During the conversation, the state and prospects of Uzbek-Russian cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian fields were discussed.
The ministers also discussed the current situation in the world around the coronavirus and noted the importance of continuing close cooperation to reduce the negative impact of the pandemic on trade and economic cooperation.
The schedule, agenda and organizational aspects of preparation for upcoming joint events at various levels, as well as within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States, were considered.
The heads of the foreign affairs agencies exchanged views on the implementation of measures envisaged under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the CIS.
During the telephone conversation, certain aspects of international and regional politics were also considered.
