Uzbek President visits enterprises in Navoi region

Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the state enterprise “Navoi Mining and Metallurgy Combine”. During the visit, the Uzbek leader familiarized himself with the work of the combine and its economic performance, as well as perspective plans for further development.

In 2017-2021, the plant plans to realize 16 new large projects.

Mirziyoyev provided necessary orders for timely and quality implementation of the projects, further expansion of production volume.

Later, President of Uzbekistan visited Navoazot, which also realizes several large projects. The enterprise plans to launch capacities on production of caustic soda and methanol.

The project will allow to produce goods for US$260 million. The project is realized within the localization programme.

Navoiazot is implementing the second project on launch of ammonia urea. The realization of the project will help enterprise to produce US$172 million a year.

The enterprise also realize a project on production of nitric acid with use of energy saving technologies.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that timely and quality implementation of new projects is important in further development of Uzbekistan.

Uzbek leader also visited the free economic zone “Navoi” and got acquainted with products, manufactured by local enterprises.

Currently, 15 enterprises produce about 100 competitive products at the free economic zone “Navoi”.

The zone was created in 2008 on initiative of the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov. The enterprises, created by investors from China, Singapore, South Korea, India, Italy, UAE, Great Britain and other countries, produce spare parts for automobiles, cables, digital TV-receivers, home appliances and other goods.

The enterprises of the zine produced goods for over 184 billion soums and exported products for US$5 million in 2015.

Uzbek leader underlined that it is necessary to further improve activities of the zone and speed up work on attracting new foreign partners.

President also received information on 15 projects, which will be realized in 2017 in the zone. He underlined importance of attracting on modern technologies, diversification of economy, decreasing imports and increase of exports.
