Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a specialized boarding school for hearing-impaired children No.102 in Almazar district.

The school was founded in 1966 and extensively renovated in 2016. Currently, 221 children are studying here. They are taught by defectologists and teachers with higher education. Last year, three out of 21 graduates of the school entered higher education institutions.

The boarding school has 4 educational buildings, a hostel for 280 people, a kitchen, a library, sports and assembly halls.

The Head of the state talked with teachers and observed the educational process.

The Hokimiyat of the city of Tashkent was instructed to repair the kitchen and technology room of the boarding school, and organize a sports complex and a production workshop.

The Ministry of Public Education was tasked to conduct a medical examination of over 2.6 hearing-impaired children together with the Zamin Foundation, provide them with hearing aids and gradually transfer children who have achieved hearing restoration to secondary schools.
