Uzbek President signs resolution on observation of Day of Memory and Honour

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On measures on preparing and organizing events dedicated to the Day of Memory and Honor” on 4 April 2017.

Uzbek President approved a programme on preparing and organizing events, dedicated to the Day of Memory and Honor.

The progamme includes measures on honoring World War II and labour front veterans of 1941-1945 and families of military and law enforcement officers, who died during their service in independence years.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev created a working group on organization of the events. Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov headed the group.

Representatives of ministries and departments, organizations, institutions and enterprises will visit each World War II and labour front veterans, as well as families of officers.

The resolution said that habitations of the World War II and labour front veterans will be repaired, while those who have no own habitation will receive flats.

The document said that various spiritual and patriotic events will be held within the celebrations.

President ordered the Ministry of Defense to organize festive salute at 21:00 of 9 May 2017.
