Uzbek President receives EBRD President

The delegation of the EBRD arrived in Uzbekistan on 15 March with three day visit.

During the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev underlined importance of developing mutual beneficial and long-term cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EBRD.

EBRD President expressed his support to development of bilateral relations and readiness to strengthen cooperation with Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the sides considered issues of developing joint cooperation programme and organization of joint measures to support and assist to small businesses.

The sides outlined main directions of cooperation, which will include support of small businesses, banking-financial sector, modernization of infrastructure, creation of modern production of agro-industrial complex, chemical and petrochemical industries, metallurgy, etc.

During the visit of the EBRD delegation, Uzbekistan and the bank signed a memorandum of cooperation and the agreement on realization of technical assistant project in nature protection sphere.
