Uzbek President holds negotiations with Turkish Deputy PM
Tuğrul Türkeş arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the session of the inter-governmental commission on trade-economic cooperation.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that Uzbekistan and Turkey are intensifying contacts and cooperation in the political, trade-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The sides discussed issues of expanding practical cooperation with leading Turkish companies - joint implementation of specific projects to create modern high-tech industries in Uzbekistan in the textile, leather, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, construction materials industry, for deep processing of agricultural products and other areas, including free economic zone Urgut.
It was underlined significant potential for interaction in tourism, including creation of modern tourist infrastructure facilities, promotion of joint tourism products, as well as training of qualified specialists in this field.
The side praised the results of the meeting of the the Uzbek-Turkish intergovernmental commission and investment forum, which took place in the Uzbek capital. During the meeting, the sides signed agreements for about US$2 billion.
Tuğrul Türkeş underlined readiness of Turkey to further development of wide-scale bilateral cooperation with Uzbekistan.
