Uzbek president appoints new justice minister

The Uzbek president signed a corresponding decree.

Ravshan Abdulatifovich Muhiddinov was born in Tashkent in 1963. He is Uzbek and has a higher education degree. He graduated from the law faculty at Tashkent State University.

He started his work in prosecution bodies as a trainee at the Chilonzor district prosecutor’s office in Tashkent in 1985. Later, he worked as a prosecutor at the investigation department of the Tashkent city prosecutor’s office, then a senior prosecutor [at that department]. Then he worked as deputy prosecutor of Sobir Rahimov district [in Tashkent], prosecutor of the supervisory and analytical department of the Prosecutor-General’s Office, deputy head of the department for supervising interrogations and investigations carried out by the Interior Ministry’s departments.

From 1998 he worked as a senior official in the Uzbek presidential administration. In 2000 he worked as the prosecutor of Jizzakh Region. From 2005 he worked as a chief inspector in the presidential administration. He has held the post of deputy prosecutor-general since 2006.
