Uzbek-Pakistani cooperation reaches a qualitatively new level

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 March this year, in Islamabad, a meeting was held between the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on Trade and Investment Abdul Razzaq Dawood.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current agenda of bilateral cooperation, the preparations for the upcoming visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the events planned during this visit, as well as further steps to deepen the mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries.

The parties expressed confidence that the high-level visit would give a new tangible impetus to the development of relations between the two states and would allow them to be brought to a qualitatively new level.

A number of issues in the field of trade and economic, investment, industrial, transport and logistics, cultural and humanitarian cooperation were considered. After exchanging views on the mechanisms for their solution, the parties agreed to come to specific agreements during the 7th meeting of the Uzbek-Pakistani Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, which will be held in the afternoon.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their commitment to active interaction at the intergovernmental and interdepartmental levels in order to accelerate the promotion of joint projects and initiatives aimed at deepening the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
