Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to discuss issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan held a meeting with the mayor of the city of Azumino in Nagano Prefecture Munehiro Miyazawa.

During the meeting with Mayor Munehiro Miyazawa, opportunities for cooperation were discussed, including on organizing the presentation of the culture of Uzbekistan in the city of Azumino, as well as attracting Japanese tourists to travel to the republic.

The Uzbek side emphasized that currently the epidemiological situation in Uzbekistan has been significantly stabilized, which creates good opportunities for enhancing international cooperation, including with Japan.

Mayor Munehiro Miyazawa positively assessed the proposal of the Uzbek side on cooperation and expressed readiness to assist in wide acquaintance of local residents with the culture and art of Uzbekistan.

An agreement was reached on organizing, with the practical assistance of the International Chodiev Foundation, an exhibition and sale of products of folk applied art of Uzbekistan in the city of Azumino.
