Uzbek nurses to work in the United States
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Nurses from Uzbekistan will now have the opportunity to work in the United States, according to the country’s Migration Agency.
This development was discussed during a meeting between Azimjon Khusanov, Deputy Director of the External Labor Migration Agency, and Fozilbek Khonkhujaev, Managing Director of the New Future Success Academy in Uzbekistan.
The talks focused on the establishment of a specialized training center in Uzbekistan to prepare nurses for U.S. certification exams, in line with American standards. Additionally, the creation of an examination center—the only one of its kind in the CIS and neighboring countries—was considered. The discussions also covered employment prospects for candidates who successfully pass the certification process, enabling them to work in U.S. healthcare institutions.
According to projections, the United States will need over 1 million nurses by 2030. To address this demand, 44,000 work visas are allocated annually for highly qualified medical professionals.
As a result of the negotiations, the Migration Agency and New Future Success Academy signed a memorandum of cooperation to train medical specialists for employment in the U.S. healthcare sector.
