Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Uzbekistan, for the purpose of early detection of diseases of mother and child, elimination of congenital malformations in infants immediately after their birth, a number of medical institutions provided with qualified specialists and equipped with modern technology have been established. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.

The Republican Perinatal Center (PRC) is the leading one among them. Its activities are being improved on the basis of the Presidential redolution "On strengthening the protection of motherhood and childhood in 2022-2026."

“The resolution provided for the opening of neonatal intensive care units in 46 inter-district perinatal centers,” says Nilufar Urinboeva, director of the Republican Perinatal Center. “The center’s specialists provide practical assistance to employees of interdistrict perinatal centers under a special program, trainings and master classes are held.

In addition, the material and technical base of interdistrict perinatal centers was studied and their needs were identified.

PRC specialists, in turn, in cooperation with international organizations such as GIZ, UNFPA, UNICEF, constantly improve their skills in Germany, Turkey, Austria, Italy, Russia and other countries.

In the neonatal departments of the Republican Perinatal Center, annually more than 1,500 premature babies receive high-tech care and rehabilitation, due to which disability among them is halved.

The Center has also developed methods for managing childbirth in multiple pregnancies. In 2021 and 2022, about thirty quadruplets were born in the institution. All of them were considered premature.
