Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Officers of the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with U.S. law enforcement agencies, have detained a citizen of Uzbekistan who was on the international wanted list. The news was confirmed by the press service of the NCB Interpol of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The individual is suspected of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 168 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan — large-scale fraud.

“Thanks to negotiations, joint operational efforts, and information exchange with the American side, a decision was made by officers of Uzbekistan’s NCB Interpol and relevant U.S. authorities to deport the fugitive,” the official statement said.

Escorted by officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the detainee was flown to Islam Karimov International Airport, where he was handed over to representatives of the NCB Interpol of Uzbekistan for further prosecution in accordance with the country’s legislation.
