Uzbek Leather Products Debut at International Exhibition in Vietnam
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — For the first time, Uzbekistan presented its national pavilion “Made in Uzbekistan” at the 25th International Shoes & Leather – Vietnam exhibition held in Ho Chi Minh City. The showcase was organized with the support of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and the Uzcharmsanoat Association. Around ten domestic companies from the leather and footwear sector participated in the event.
The pavilion featured a range of products, including finished leather, gelatin, technical fluids, and specialized footwear. Participation in this major international platform marked an important step in promoting Uzbek-made goods on the global market and enhancing the industry’s export potential.
A number of business meetings were held on the sidelines of the exhibition with companies from Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Preliminary agreements were reached with Pakistani firms for the supply of finished leather and wet-blue products. Discussions also focused on processing Uzbek raw materials under foreign brands.
Indian company Tenero Suede Exports expressed interest in environmentally certified leather from Uzbekistan, and test samples are currently being prepared. Representatives from Saudi Arabian firm Zaqrt voiced readiness to begin direct procurement for the domestic market.
With Thailand’s SarChem International, talks centered on prospects for technological cooperation and the exchange of laboratory samples for gelatin products and chemical reagents.
The national pavilion served not only as a display for Uzbek products but also as a platform for forging strong business relationships and promoting the “Made in Uzbekistan” brand on the international stage.
Foreign partners showed particular interest in the eco-friendliness of the products, modern manufacturing technologies, and Uzbekistan’s logistical advantages.
