Uzbek leader signs resolution to approve new regulation on tax committee

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On further improvement of legal regulation bodies of the state tax service”.

The document said that the State Tax Committee is the national body on control over adherence to tax legislation, protection of economic interests ate property rights of the government. The committee is accountable for the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.

The Uzbek President appoints and exempts the chairperson of the State Tax Committee, the regulation said.

The main tasks of the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan include:

• Realize state tax policy and ensure effective control over adherence of tax legislation, correctness and fullness of tax and other mandatory payments;
• Ensure full receipt of tax and other mandatory payments to the State Budget of Uzbekistan, target state funds and off-budget funds in line with the Uzbekistan Tax Code and other legislative documents;
• Carry out measures on prevention of violation in tax sphere;
• Prevent sources of illegal money turnover, ensure systematic control over timely ad full hand over of cash receipts by legal entities and individuals, etc.
