Uzbek karakul is gaining popularity in Russia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The leadership of the Uzcharmsanoat Association held a meeting with the President of the Russian Fur Council, Sergei Stolbov, and a Russian delegation consisting of representatives of the Soft Gold Fur and Leather Association.

At the beginning of the negotiations, the guests congratulated the leadership of the Association on the high level and successful organization of the 12th International Exhibition-Fair UzCharmExpo-2022, which served as an effective platform for international cooperation.

At the meeting, issues of further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia in the fur sector were discussed in detail. It should be noted that today Uzbekistan is the second largest producer of astrakhan products in the world. The combination of price and quality further increases the demand for these products in the world market. President of the Russian Fur Council Sergey Stolbov noted that today there is a growing demand for Uzbek astrakhan products in the Russian market. In this regard, he expressed the initiative to consider proposals for the further development of relations in this area and the facilitation of the trade process.

The sides also noted the formation of an international electronic database of enterprises producing fur and wool products. This, in turn, will open wide opportunities for Uzbek entrepreneurs. It was also noted that within the framework of the 12th international exhibition-fair UzCharmExpo-2022 in Tashkent, Russian entrepreneurs held negotiations with many local entrepreneurs producing astrakhan products and reached mutually beneficial agreements.

During negotiations with representatives of the leather and fur association "Soft Gold", the issue of ensuring the participation of Uzbek entrepreneurs in the international exhibition "Soft Gold" in Pyatigorsk, Russia was also discussed. It should be noted that Pyatigorsk is the capital of the Russian fur industry. Participation in this exhibition opens wide opportunities for our manufacturers to enter new markets.

As a result of the negotiations, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Uzcharmsanoat Association and the Soft Gold Fur and Leather Association.
