Uzbek-Japanese cooperation in the field of justice to expand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 December 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov, who is in Tokyo on a visit, met with the Minister of Justice of Japan Ken Saito.

Ken Saito positively characterized the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan to improve the efficiency of public administration, modernize rule-making processes, ensure the implementation of legislative acts, improve the mechanisms for dialogue with the people, and strengthen public control.

An exchange of views took place on the expansion of Uzbek-Japanese cooperation in the field of justice.

In particular, the interest of the parties in the exchange of experience and information on law enforcement practice and best practices for conducting investigations was noted. Proposals were considered for signing a memorandum between the prosecutor's offices of the two countries, establishing cooperation between educational institutions in training personnel in the law enforcement sphere.

Particular attention was paid to the prospects for cooperation in the field of migration.

An agreement was reached on the development and adoption of an Action Plan for Uzbek-Japanese cooperation in the above-mentioned areas.
