Uzbek–Iraqi Investment and Business Forum Held in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 15 January, the Uzbek–Iraqi Investment and Business Forum took place in Samarkand, bringing together more than 400 entrepreneurs and representatives of the business communities of the two countries.

The forum was held with the active participation of senior officials from relevant ministries and agencies, as well as representatives of chambers of commerce and industry and sectoral associations.

The event was organized in line with instructions issued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at an extraordinary session of the Council of People’s Deputies of the Samarkand region, aimed at expanding access to foreign markets, increasing export volumes, and strengthening industrial cooperation with partner countries.

The forum clearly demonstrated the gradual emergence of a structured and practical dialogue between the business communities of Uzbekistan and Iraq. The parties confirmed their readiness to move from establishing contacts to the implementation of concrete trade, economic, and investment projects.

Particular attention was paid to developing regular interaction between entrepreneurs, strengthening B2B ties, exchanging business missions, and jointly elaborating cooperative projects.

As a tangible outcome of the forum, B2B meetings were held during which companies discussed specific areas of cooperation, and a number of agreements and contracts were signed to support the implementation of joint projects and the expansion of trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Iraq.
