Uzbek Govn’t approves general plan of Termez

The general plan of the city was adopted in order to further complex development of Termez city, improve quality and level of its planning and construction, improve architecture and planning outlook and infrastructure of the city.

The main clauses of the general plan of Termez city envisages further development of administrative-economic, cultural and industrial center of Surkhandarya region.

The general plan envisages reconstruction of central part of Termez city, removing ecologically harmful objects to outside of the city, reorganization and modernization of engineering infrastructure, etc.

According to the plan, number of population will grow from 136,300 people in 2014 to 195,000 people in 2035.

The modern territory of the city will make up 4,341.47 hectares in 2035 against 2,780 hectares in 2014. Villages Pattakkesar, part of villages Manguzar, Chegara, Namuna, Pakhtakor, Gulistan, Tinchlik will join to Termez.

The plan also envisages construction of houses and in the result habitation fund will reach 3.51 million square meters in 2035. The programme also stipulates development of social infrastructure such as schools, colleges, universities, schools, hospitals, etc. The length of streets will grow from 70.35 km in 2014 to 143.9 km in 2035.

The document envisages reconstruction of Bolajon Park, creation of sporting complex in territory of former Qal’a, etc.

In order to create favorable sanitary, environmental and microclimatic conditions it is planned to create health protection and wind-proof areas and landscaping along the roads of the city and district level.

Around of the city center and on its territory, as well as along the highways of the city, the general plan envisages construction of apartment houses with service objects on the first floor.
