Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 October 2021, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Farkhod Arziev met with the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Khusrav Noziri.

The ECO delegation headed by Khusrav Noziri is in our republic as part of international observers at the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the head of the regional organization was familiarized with the preparation and conduct of the presidential elections in Uzbekistan.

Secretary General Khusrav Noziri, thanking the Government of Uzbekistan for the invitation to an important political event of our country, expressed his wish for its successful holding. “I already see that the elections in Uzbekistan are held democratically and in accordance with international standards. I am confident that the people of Uzbekistan will make the right decision in the upcoming elections,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for supporting the ECO activities, from which the Organization benefits in further strengthening cooperation in the region.

At the same time, the parties exchanged views on the further expansion of interaction between Uzbekistan and the Organization for Economic Cooperation in such important areas for our country as trade, investment, transport communications, food security, renewable energy.
