Uzbek Foreign Ministry hosts a meeting with the Chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 30 August 2022, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with the Chairman of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Norbert Lammert.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Fund in various areas were discussed.

Mr Lammert noted that the Foundation supports the large-scale reforms and transformations being implemented in Uzbekistan in all spheres of society. The choice of Tashkent as the venue for its annual conference for representatives in Asian countries is a clear confirmation of this.

The head of the Foundation noted the fruitful results of the negotiations held in the Senate and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan. In this context, the need to strengthen close cooperation between the Fund and the parliament and political parties of Uzbekistan was emphasized.

Proposals on the schedule of events aimed at strengthening Uzbek-German relations were considered.

The Chairman of the Foundation expressed his readiness for further expansion of interaction, including through the continuation of the practice of exchanging experience and visits.

An exchange of views took place on the implementation of joint projects in the economic, environmental, scientific and research fields, in the field of improving legislative activity, human rights and gender equality, and improving the skills of employees of state departments and non-governmental organizations.

Mutual interest was expressed in establishing cooperation in the training of journalists, organizing the participation of representatives of the Uzbek media in the Foundation’s programs "Support for Young Journalists" and "Training Professional Journalists".

The talks also considered topical issues on the regional and global agenda.
