Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 October 2021, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Uzbekistan Hamid Nairabodi.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the efforts of the two countries to expand cooperation in the Afghan direction, as well as the situation in Afghanistan.

The Iranian Ambassador emphasized the active participation of Uzbekistan in the establishment of a long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan.

The sides also exchanged views on the issue of providing humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and economic assistance to Afghanistan.
