Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 November 2022, under the chairmanship of Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Norov, a brainstorming session was organized, which was attended by the heads of sectoral departments of Uzbekistan, the relevant committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Export Promotion Agency. The ambassadors of Uzbekistan in European countries were connected via videoconference.
The goal of the event is to ensure close interdepartmental coordination and interaction for the timely and high-quality implementation of the instructions of the President of Uzbekistan to increase exports to European countries in 2023, including through the effective use of GSP + opportunities.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov noted the importance of consolidating efforts and existing opportunities to achieve the tasks set. He focused on the need to develop specific proposals to increase the volume of exports of industrial products to European countries by $700 million and the range of goods up to 600 items.
Practical initiatives were taken by the heads of the CCI D. Vakhabov, the associations "Uztekstilprom" I. Khaydarov and "Uzcharmsanoat" F. Boboev, director of the Agency for Technical Regulation D. Sattarov and others.
Ambassadors of Uzbekistan to Germany, Latvia, Italy and Poland shared opportunities to attract European partners to strengthen the potential of domestic exporters in the field of certification and standardization, marketing, training, e-commerce. Particular attention was paid to transport and logistics issues.
Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism R. Alimov, emphasizing the importance and timeliness of the brainstorming, announced the senators’ readiness to contribute to the achievement of goals through inter-parliamentary diplomacy.
As a result of the event, an agreement was reached on the formation of an interdepartmental Working Group and the development of a "Road Map", including specific tasks, mechanisms and deadlines for their implementation.
