Uzbek Foreign Ministry and Private Employment Agencies discuss protection of citizens working abroad
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 May 2025, a meeting was held with the participation of Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan O. Abdullayev, Deputy Director of the Migration Agency M. Kuranov, and Chairman of the Association of Private Employment Agencies (APEAs) T. Khaydarov.
The main focus of the discussion was the protection of the rights of Uzbek citizens employed abroad, prevention of job refusal cases, and the inclusion of consular registration clauses in employment contracts. Special attention was also given to improving the operations of private employment agencies.
Participants reviewed mechanisms to enhance cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the APEAs, aiming to boost the effectiveness of legal and consular assistance provided to Uzbek nationals working overseas.
A key topic was the organization of job fairs and B2B negotiations with foreign employers, which are planned for June 2025 in countries such as Germany and Croatia with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As a result of the meeting, it was agreed to develop and implement measures ensuring safe and legal working conditions for Uzbek citizens abroad.
