Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 October 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Apostolic Nuncio of the Vatican in Uzbekistan (with residence in Moscow), Archbishop Giovanni D’Aniello.

Accepting his credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to a responsible post and noted that a positive experience of partnership has been accumulated between Uzbekistan and the Vatican, aimed at strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between people of different nationalities and religions.

Mutual interest was expressed in further strengthening and intensifying interfaith dialogue at various levels.

Apostolic Nuncio was familiarized with the work carried out in Uzbekistan to strengthen interethnic harmony and religious tolerance, the all-round protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens, including in the spiritual sphere.
