Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17 November 2020, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov in Washington met with US Assistant Secretary of State, Head of the Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Robert Destro.
At the meeting, a substantive conversation took place on promising areas for the further development of bilateral cooperation in various fields.
During the conversation, the American side was informed about the large-scale reforms carried out in our country and the results achieved in the field of ensuring fundamental freedoms and human rights, combating corruption, freedom of the media, eradicating forced labor, and developing civil society institutions.
The American diplomat praised the measures taken under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to democratize the country, liberalize society and strengthen the rule of law.
The parties reaffirmed their commitment to stepping up the Uzbek-American interaction in areas of mutual interest.
