Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov will visit Dushanbe (Tajikistan) on March 30 to attend the 9th Ministerial Conference “Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process”.

According to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, issues of ensuring security and further development of regional economic cooperation, as well as strengthening confidence-building measures between the participating countries to help stabilize the situation in Afghanistan and its socio-economic recovery are planned to be discussed at the event.

The theme of the conference is “Strengthening Consensus for Peace and Development”. The President of Tajikistan and the President of Afghanistan, who will arrive in Dushanbe on an official visit, will address the forum.

Foreign ministers of 15 participating countries will attend and deliver speeches at the conference. Representatives of 16 donor countries and leaders of 16 regional and international organizations will take part in the event via videoconference.

Following the conference, it is expected to adopt the Dushanbe Declaration.
