Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 November 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov took part in a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Economic Cooperation, held in Ashgabat.

During the event, the parties exchanged views on the preparation for the upcoming summit of the Organization and the drafts of documents submitted for consideration by the heads of state.

The current state and prospects for the further development of multilateral cooperation within the ECO were discussed. The reports of the ECO specialized institutions were heard and approved.

In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov emphasized the need to intensify trade and economic ties in the ECO space by eliminating trade barriers, simplifying customs and other procedures, and developing transport communications. The importance of involving Afghanistan in regional processes, providing the country with humanitarian aid and implementing infrastructure projects was noted.
