Uzbek FM receives UN Assistant Secretary-General

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 March 2017, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs of the United Nations Miroslav Jenča, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

As emphasized in the course of the conversation, Uzbekistan, which joined the UN on 2 March 1992, makes a worthy contribution to raising the profile and strengthening the capacity of the UN, as well as the implementation of the objectives of the UN Charter.

During the meeting, the sides considered current state and perspectives of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UN, as well as exchanged opinion on actual international and regional problems.

Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Petko Draganov also attended the meeting.
