Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 18 January 2023, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Uzbekistan Yousef Saleh Algahrah Al-Otaibi.

An exchange of views took place on the current state and prospects for the further development of Uzbek-Saudi cooperation with an emphasis on the implementation of the agreements reached following the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Saudi Arabia in August 2022.

The commitment of the parties to the provision of mutual support within the framework of international institutions was noted.

Proposals were considered to intensify trade and economic ties and implement industrial cooperation projects.

A schedule of upcoming events and visits has been agreed, including the participation of Uzbekistan at the I Biennale of Islamic Art, held from 23 January to 23 April 2023 in Jeddah.

Certain issues of regional policy were also discussed at the meeting.
