Uzbek FM meets with UN Secretary-General

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 September 2015, at the Headquarter of the United Nations in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the perspective directions of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Nations, as well as issues on the agenda of the 70th Anniversary Session of the General Assembly and the proposals of the Uzbek side to the submitted draft Sustainable Development Goals in the 2016-2030 years.

Ban Ki-moon, who had visited Uzbekistan several times, including the Aral Sea region, expressed support for the efforts of Uzbekistan to mitigate the consequences of the Aral Sea ecological disaster.
