Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 August 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland Konstantin Obolensky, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said in a statement.

Accepting the copies of credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of his activity in Uzbekistan and wished him success in a high and responsible post.

The parties noted mutual interest in enhancing cooperation, in particular through political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, enhancing trade-economic and investment cooperation.

The sides exchanged views on the situation in the region, taking into account the current situation in Afghanistan, including the evacuation of Swiss citizens from this country.
