Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 July 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Sohn Hyuk-Sang, in Seoul.
According to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and KOICA.
As it was noted, over the years of cooperation, KOICA has become one of the key international partners in the implementation of important programs in the socio-economic sphere in Uzbekistan. Since the opening of the Agency's office in Uzbekistan, more than 32 projects worth US$130 million have been implemented. Over 2 thousand internships of Uzbekistan specialists have been organized in the Republic of Korea. More than 570 KOICA volunteer experts have been attracted.
The sides exchanged views on the joint projects within the framework of the Cooperation Program for 2020-2022, signed during the state visit of President Moon Jae-in to Uzbekistan in April 2019.
Proposals for the implementation of new projects in education and healthcare were considered.
Following the conversation, the Minister invited the KOICA President to visit Uzbekistan.
