Uzbek FM calls on OSCE partners to support the "Samarkand initiative of solidarity in the name of common security and prosperity"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In his speech at a regular meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov voiced proposals for improving the activities of the Organization.

It was emphasized that the OSCE is going through difficult times, there is a decrease in the level of trust between the participating States, and conflict situations have become more frequent.

Under these conditions, dialogue free from geopolitical rivalry and ideological contradictions, as well as a joint search for solutions to all the complex problems that the participating States face, is extremely in demand and should remain the cornerstone of the OSCE agenda.

From this point of view, Vladimir Norov focused the attention of the meeting participants on the relevance of the “Samarkand initiative of solidarity for the sake of common security and prosperity”, put forward by the President of Uzbekistan, which is designed to unite the efforts of states and peoples of the world to mitigate existing contradictions and disagreements by building up cultural, civilizational, interethnic, interreligious interaction.

The Uzbek Foreign Minister called on the OSCE partners to support this initiative.
