Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov has held talks with the U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad, in Washington.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of resolving the Afghan conflict, as well as measures that will contribute to the establishment of peace in the region.
They emphasized the mutual desire to further support the inter-Afghan talks and promote the development of regional trade, the implementation of investment and infrastructure projects, as well as accelerate the integration of Afghanistan into the regional process.
The US Special Representative expressed his readiness to attend the International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Connectivity. Challenges and Opportunities” scheduled for 15-16 July in Tashkent.
