Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Ministry of Finance with the participation of Deputy Finance Minister Jamshid Abruev and the World Bank’s leading health economist, Mr. Moulay Driss Zine Eddin El Idrisi.
The meeting was also attended by Director of the Department of International Financial Relations Ajiniaz Kaipnazarov, responsible employees of the Department of Budget Policy in the field of health and Sports, as well as representatives of the World Bank Susanna Hayrapetyan, Elvira Anadolu and Mohirjon Ahmedov.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Minister of Finance informed the representatives of the World Bank about the reforms carried out in the financing of the healthcare sector in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, Mr. Mulay Driss Zin Eddin El Idrisi noted the measures to be taken within the framework of the projects implemented jointly with the Republic of Uzbekistan and the World Bank “Improving emergency medical services” and "Taking urgent measures to combat COVID19 coronavirus infection in Uzbekistan”, as well as the extension of the project implementation period.
At the same time, the meeting discussed the procedure for forming the budget for financing the healthcare sector, the introduction of a system of differentiated remuneration and incentive payments to healthcare workers depending on the amount of work they perform, the complexity and professional qualifications of medical services and public assessment of their activities. There was also an exchange of views on the project of introducing medical insurance on the example of the Syrdarya region.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation on the above issues.
