Uzbek envoy to Russia visits Krasnoyarsk
A delegation from Uzbekistan headed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic Akmal Kamalov is located in Krasnoyarsk.
At the beginning of the meeting Edkham Akbulatov thanked the Ambassador for his interest in Krasnoyarsk and mentioned that the Russian-Uzbek cooperation is actively developing in recent years in our city: “Krasnoyarsk - is a multinational city. The representatives of about 140 nationalities live in the regional center, more than 30 national-cultural autonomies work successfully here, and among them - a large Uzbek diaspora, with whom we are united with warm and friendly relations. I hope that your visit will be an impetus to the development of economic and trade cooperation, strengthening of partnerships between Krasnoyarsk and Uzbek businessmen. Our city is preparing to host an international sporting event Universiade 2019, and I hope that our cooperation will be developing productively in youth policy”.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Russia Akmal Kamalov told about the current situation in Uzbekistan, in general, about its social and economic development: “Not long ago we celebrated the 24th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence. Over these years we managed to get a diversified economy, and today we have the developed petrochemical, automotive industry, we successfully work in the textile and pharmaceutical production. And I’m sure that Krasnoyarsk business will be interested in our experience and products.”
Agreement on cooperation between the Central-Siberian Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Uzbekistan was signed in 2013. Partnership relations between Krasnoyarsk and Uzbekistan are strengthening not only in the field of economy and trade. The representatives of the Uzbek diaspora carry out national holidays in our city: the day “Kovun sayli” (festival of Melon) has already become popular in Krasnoyarsk. Collectives from Uzbekistan regularly come with creative visits to our city. For example, the Uzbek theater of historical costume El Merosi, as well as several musicians took part in the IV Krasnoyarsk International Music Festival of Asian-Pacific region in 2014. The Uzbek National Cultural Autonomy took an active part in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Victory Day, a federal holiday “Sabantuy in 2015”.
