Uzbek enterprises attract over 3,150 foreigners to work

Enterprises and organizations of Uzbekistan employed over 3,150 foreign citizens in January-May 2016, head of the Agency of labour migration Ulugbek Nazarov said.
He noted that the agency also engaged in attracting foreign working force into Uzbekistan.
In 2015, the Agency examined 7813 applications for approvals and issuing of permission to attract foreign labor force, he said.
Ulugbek Nazarov said that 1469 enterprises attracted 6344 foreign nationals based on the agency’s permits in 2015.
“From January to May 2016, we held 22 meetings of the Commission, which considered 3801 applications and issued permits to 669 businesses to employ 3152 citizens of other countries,” he added.
According to the agency, foreign specialists are attracted mainly to the implementation of major investment projects in Uzbekistan.
