Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 June, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Jamshid Kuchkarov met with representatives of the Citibank international bank, headed by the Bank’s CEO in Europe, Africa and the Middle East by David Livingston.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Bobur Abdinazarov, Deputy Minister of Finance Odilbek Isakov, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Behzod Khamraev, on behalf of the guests the Bank’s General Director in Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Grant Carsone, Managing Director in Turkey Emre Carter, head of the Turkish Corporate Bank, Ebru Sonmez Yamk, and others.

The agenda included issues to strengthen further cooperation and the implementation of possible joint projects.

At the beginning of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current state of processes and the main indicators of jointly implemented projects. At the same time, the Uzbek side briefed the guests on the current large-scale reforms being carried out in the country and further priority areas for development.

In particular, special attention was paid to reforms on the privatization of state-owned enterprises, the development of the private sector and public-private partnerships, as well as the transition to a "green" economy.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to further expand mutually beneficial and effective cooperation.
