Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 November 2020, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Farhod Arziev met with the head of the Presidential Administration of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Shokir Korgar.
During the conversation, the state and prospects of the Uzbek-Afghan multifaceted relations were discussed.
The sides noted with satisfaction the current high level of bilateral cooperation and emphasized their mutual commitment to further deepening close cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a state.
The Afghan side fully supported the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, voiced at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, to create a permanent committee under the Organization to promote the socio-economic development of Afghanistan.
Appreciation was expressed for the active efforts of Uzbekistan to ensure lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Particular attention is paid to the issues of assistance in the restoration of the Afghan economy, its involvement in regional economic processes.
It was emphasized that projects implemented with the participation of Uzbekistan in the field of transport, logistics, energy, trade and education are an important contribution to the socio-economic development of Afghanistan.
During the talks, an exchange of views took place on other issues of the bilateral agenda.
