Uzbek Delegation Studies Belarusian Livestock Complexes in Vitebsk Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an official visit to Belarus, the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Vakhabov, reviewed the operations of several livestock complexes in the Vitebsk region. The delegation visited major farms across three districts under the jurisdiction of Vitebsk city.
During the visit, the delegation closely examined the production capacities of the complexes, infrastructure built with modern technologies, feed resources, and ongoing livestock development projects. Special attention was given to the potential for joint initiatives with Uzbek enterprises in meat and dairy production, utilizing nearly 20,000 hectares of feed areas and around 4,000 livestock facilities.
Belarus demonstrates strong performance in the livestock sector. In the first nine months of 2025, 42,000 tons of meat were sold through the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) for over US$200 million. The country maintains high production volumes, with over 9 million tons of milk, more than 1 million tons of beef and poultry in live weight, and over 2.2 billion eggs produced.
The parties discussed opportunities for Uzbek entrepreneurs to cooperate with Belarusian companies to efficiently utilize available resources and implement modern technologies. Participants emphasized that such joint initiatives contribute to strengthening agro-industrial cooperation between the two countries and expanding the production of high-quality livestock products.
