Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 June 2021, an online meeting was held between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang, the press service of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan said in a statement.

The parties discussed topical issues of the bilateral agenda following the results of the last telephone conversation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.

It was emphasized that this online meeting is a logical step towards the effective implementation of the agreements of the Heads of State to further deepen the multifaceted interaction between the two countries.

During the conversation, topical issues of the Uzbek-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership, including the expansion of practical interaction in the spheres of trade, investment, transport and transit, were substantively considered. A discussion of promising joint projects with the participation of leading Chinese companies and financial institutions took place.

The agenda also included issues of promoting programs of a scientific, educational, cultural and humanitarian nature. Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation in the field of health.

They expressed gratitude to the leadership of the PRC for the humanitarian assistance provided, as well as sending experienced medical specialists to Uzbekistan to support in the fight against the spread of COVID-19. The successful implementation of joint clinical trials of a vaccine against coronavirus by scientists and doctors of the two countries, as well as the effective organization of vaccination of the population was noted

The negotiations took place in a traditionally open, businesslike and friendly atmosphere.
