Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 June 2022, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov held a meeting with Director of the Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) of Great Britain Martin Harris.
During the talks, the state and prospects for the further development of multifaceted Uzbek-British cooperation were discussed.
The British side announced its readiness to continue supporting large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at modernizing the national economy, in particular, through the Good Governance for Economic Development assistance program to Uzbekistan.
Mutual interest was reaffirmed in realizing the existing significant potential to strengthen partnerships in the political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Special attention was paid to the issues of enhancing the interaction of the parties in providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan and in the field of countering transnational threats.
There was also an exchange of views on topical aspects of international and regional politics.
