Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 September 2022, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov and the Minister of European and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Austria Alexander Schallenberg.

The positive dynamics of relations observed in recent years was noted with satisfaction. The readiness of the parties to intensify ties both on a bilateral basis and in the “Uzbekistan-Austria-EU” format was expressed.

An agreement was reached on thorough preparations for upcoming contacts at various levels and formats.

The presence of opportunities for attracting direct Austrian investments in such sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan as hydropower, green technologies, agriculture and the construction industry was noted.

The closeness of the positions of the two countries on topical issues of international and regional politics was emphasized.
