Uzbek and Latvian Businesses Agree to Expand Cooperation in Logistics and Industry

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 March, during the visit of a Latvian delegation to Uzbekistan, the Uzbek-Latvian Business Forum was held in Tashkent, bringing together representatives of government agencies and business circles from both countries.

The forum was attended by Atis Švinka, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Latvia, and Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan.

Discussions focused on expanding trade and economic relations, developing investment cooperation, and exploring opportunities for mutually beneficial collaboration in transport, logistics, and industry.

Additionally, during the Latvian delegation’s visit, a separate meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. Participants considered ways to strengthen direct contacts between business communities, enhance import-export operations, optimize logistics routes, and implement joint investment projects.

Following the forum, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Latvian Employers’ Confederation. The document aims to strengthen cooperation between the two countries’ business communities, stimulate business dialogue, and facilitate new joint projects.

The event concluded with B2B meetings between companies from both countries. Agreements were reached to develop joint projects in logistics, industry, agriculture, and the digital economy.
