Uzbek and Egyptian Pharmaceutical Companies Agree to Localize Medicine Production
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The leadership of Uzbek pharmaceutical companies Propharm Partners and Lafz visited the Arab Republic of Egypt, where they held a series of productive meetings and signed mutually beneficial agreements, according to the Dunyo news agency.
A key outcome of the negotiations was the signing of an agreement with the Middle East’s largest pharmaceutical holding ACDIMA to jointly localize the production of certain types of medicines in Uzbekistan. The parties agreed on implementation mechanisms, outlined the project phases, and formalized their mutual commitments.
ACDIMA unites 17 pharmaceutical companies producing more than 1,200 types of products across various segments of the industry.
During the visit, distribution agreements were also signed with EIPICO, MUP (Medical Union Pharmaceuticals), and October Pharma, all of which are part of the ACDIMA group. These agreements include both direct deliveries to Uzbekistan and a phased localization of high-quality, affordable medicines for domestic needs.
The agreements lay a solid foundation for expanding pharmaceutical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Egypt, contributing to the supply of effective and accessible medicines for the local market.
