Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 July 2020, the Ministry of External Affairs of India hosted a ceremony of presenting credentials by the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov to the President of the Republic of India, Ram Nath Kovind.
During the conversation, held in the form of video conference, the President of India noted fruitful cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
It was noted that in recent years, mutually beneficial and fruitful interaction between the two countries in investment, agricultural, educational, cultural and other fields has been developing rapidly.
The head of the Indian state sincerely thanked Uzbekistan for supporting India’s candidacy for non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for 2021-2022 and expressed hope for the further development of constructive cooperation within the framework of international organizations.
Ram Nath Kovind warmly noted the meeting with the President of Uzbekistan during his state visit to India from 30 September to 1 October 2018 and expressed his deep respect and best wishes to the Head of our state.
The President of India emphasized that India and Uzbekistan are strategic partners connected by a centuries-old common history, close and friendly ties.
