Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Belarus, Rakhmatulla Nazarov, met with Igor Sergeyenko, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, according to the Dunyo News Agency.

At the start of the meeting, both sides emphasized the spiritual closeness and shared moral and cultural values of the Uzbek and Belarusian peoples. It was noted that the strong friendship between the leaders of the two nations has laid the foundation for mutual trust, fostering cooperation across various fields.

Igor Sergeyenko expressed gratitude for the invitation to the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, scheduled to take place in Tashkent from April 5 to 9. He also welcomed the establishment of an inter-parliamentary cooperation group within Uzbekistan’s Legislative Chamber to enhance ties with the Belarusian People’s Assembly.

"We look forward to further intensifying constructive dialogue between our parliaments and strengthening the practice of mutual visits by parliamentary delegations," said Sergeyenko.

The parties discussed the successful development of trade and economic relations and regional cooperation. They stressed the need for further strengthening collaboration within international and regional organizations, as well as monitoring the implementation of high-level agreements.

Concluding the meeting, Igor Sergeyenko expressed support for expanding multifaceted cooperation, including joint cultural and humanitarian initiatives.

"We are interested in strengthening not only economic but also cultural ties between our countries," he stated.

The meeting took place in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, reaffirming the mutual commitment of Uzbekistan and Belarus to further deepening their partnership.
